The Association of Former Students of Texas A&M

The official designer of The Association’s long-standing alumni magazine, Texas Aggie. Our partnership has lasted more than 20 years.

The client

The Association of Former Students serves to strengthen the Aggie Network, promote the interests and welfare of Texas A&M, perpetuate the ties of affection and esteem formed in university days, and serve the student body. First published in 1921, Texas Aggie magazine remains the official publication of the Aggie Network.

The partnership

We would like to thank The Association of Former Students for our existence, as the nonprofit was D Custom’s first client — and remains a valued member of our roster to this day.

When they first called in 2001, The Association needed help adapting Texas Aggie to better meet member expectations and serve the mission of building and maintaining connections between A&M and its alumni.

As The Association’s magazine design team for the last 20-plus years, it’s our job to ensure Texas Aggie appeals to a new generation while respecting the traditions beloved by so many. When you’ve been together as long as we have, change is inevitable — including new faces on both sides and a handful of redesigns, the most recent of which was completed in early 2025.

The takeaways

Evolution is constant, as we work collaboratively with The Association to enhance the reader experience, ensuring Texas Aggie bridges the gap between former students new and old. As our longest-enduring title, Texas Aggie is as much a part of D Custom’s history as it is A&M’s.
